22023 The World New Energy Vehicle Conference was held in Germany to discuss the acceleration of the comprehensive marketization process of new energy vehicles
Recently, the 2023 World New Energy Vehicle Congress (IAA Mobility special session) was successfully held at the Munich Exhibition Center. The conference was organized by the China Society of Automotive Engineering (China-SAE), the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) and the World New Energy Vehicle Congress International Organization (CNEV). It is reported that this is the first time that the World New Energy Vehicle Conference is held overseas.
The meeting mainly focused on "low-carbon travel, win-win cooperation", focused on low-carbon development strategies and paths, and discussed how to accelerate the full marketization process of new energy vehicles, how to enhance the low carbon and stability of the industrial chain, how to deepen international cooperation and give full play to synergies.
Wan Gang, chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and chairman of the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, said at the meeting that coping with climate change and achieving sustainable development has become the consensus of the whole society. New energy vehicles have the characteristics of diversified energy sources, high drive efficiency, and zero emission operation. They are the common choice for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the field of road transportation and improving the global ecological environment. They have become the main direction of the transformation and upgrading of the automobile industry, and are accelerating towards a new stage of comprehensive market-oriented development.
Wan Gang pointed out that to jointly cope with the severe challenges of global climate change, the global automobile industry should further deepen global cooperation, constantly build consensus, cooperate to build a low-carbon sustainable new energy automobile industry development new ecology, carry out high-level global automobile science and technology innovation exchanges and cooperation, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the global automobile industry, and make positive contributions to achieving the goal of carbon neutrality.
At the conference site, Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China, and Bernhard KLUTTIG, Director General of the Department of Industrial Policy of the Federal Ministry of Economic and Climate Protection of Germany, delivered speeches.
Xin Guobin pointed out that the development of new energy vehicles has become a common choice for all countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector, respond to the challenge of global climate change, and promote the low-carbon transformation of economy and society. Green and low-carbon is the inherent requirement of the development of the automobile industry, open cooperation is a powerful driving force for the development of new energy vehicles, and supply chain stability is the fundamental guarantee for the development of new energy vehicles.
Xin Guobin stressed that the accelerated integration of electrification, intelligence, networking and low-carbon provides a historic opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of the global automobile industry, but it is also facing a series of challenges, and it is urgent for all parties to firmly maintain the concept of global development, strengthen cooperation between governments, promote transnational cooperation and innovation in technology, and jointly promote the innovative development of the new energy automobile industry and low-carbon transformation in the transportation field.
Bernhard KLUTTIG says man-made climate change is inexorably intensifying, so we must act now. Germany has set itself ambitious climate targets, hoping to achieve climate neutrality by 2045, and there is an urgent need to accelerate the market introduction of new energy vehicles. Green transformation and digital transformation will have a profound impact on the structure of the automotive industry, and challenges will need to be overcome by ensuring a fair, transparent and reliable policy environment and international cooperation.
In addition, Hildegard MLLER, president of the German Association of the Automotive Industry, also mentioned in the keynote report that the future of zero-emission transition in the transport sector is one of the most important tasks for us to achieve our climate protection goals.
She said that the climate protection targets set by Europe and Germany are challenging, but the targets in the transport sector will eventually be achieved by increasing the share of new energy vehicles in the market. Both China and Germany are leaders in the field of new energy. In the next five years, VDA member companies will invest heavily in product research and development, especially in electrification, automation and digitalization.
Jennifer Lee MORGAN, State Secretary at the German Foreign Ministry and Special Envoy for International Climate Action, said in the keynote presentation that electrification must go hand in hand with scaling up renewable energy, phasing out fossil fuels, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions at all stages of a vehicle's life cycle, covering the entire value chain. At the same time, we need to take into account the global regulatory pressure and consumer demand for electric vehicles.
It is reported that at the conference, the guest representatives of Volkswagen Group, Shanghai Group, BMW Group, BYD, Changan Automobile, Mercedes-Benz, NIO, Ningde Times, ZF, Horizon, Zero Run Automobile, Kirchhoff Group, Zhongchuang Airlines, Magna Steir, Black Sesame, Hexcon, Xinwang Technology, Bosch Group also spoke. Make a keynote speech on how to accelerate the full marketization of new energy vehicles and how to improve the low-carbon and stable supply chain.
